Getting LlamaBar
LlamaBar is a free download on the Mac App Store.
Requirements
- macOS 26 (Tahoe) or newer.
- A local Ollama installation (free). LlamaBar is a companion utility and does not run models itself.
The popover says "Log access needed" — what do I select?
Click Grant Access… and select Ollama's log folder (~/.ollama/logs). The panel shows hidden folders; press ⌘⇧G and type the path if needed. The permission is remembered across launches.
"Ollama not detected" — why?
Ollama isn't installed or isn't running. Install it from ollama.com and run any prompt — LlamaBar picks it up automatically.
My log file has a different name (llama.cpp / MLX)
Open Settings → Log path → Choose… and grant the folder that contains your log. LlamaBar keeps a path covered by your grant, and otherwise follows the newest .log file in the folder you picked.
Want to see the UI without Ollama?
Open Settings → Preview → Run Preview: two sample prompts play through the live progress UI — cache badge, prefill, live generation and completion.

Ayarlar → Log yolu → Seç… ile logunuzun bulunduğu klasöre izin verin. LlamaBar izin kapsamındaki yolu korur; yoksa seçtiğiniz klasördeki en yeni .log dosyasını izler.
Ollama olmadan arayüzü görmek ister misiniz?
Ayarlar → Önizleme → Önizlemeyi Çalıştır: iki örnek prompt, canlı ilerleme arayüzünde akar — önbellek rozeti, prefill, canlı üretim ve tamamlanma.

„Ollama nicht gefunden“ – warum?
Ollama ist nicht installiert oder läuft nicht. Installiere es von ollama.com und führe irgendeinen Prompt aus – LlamaBar erkennt ihn automatisch.
Meine Log-Datei heißt anders (llama.cpp / MLX)
Öffne Einstellungen → Log-Datei → Auswählen… und gewähre Zugriff auf den Ordner mit deinem Log. LlamaBar behält einen von deiner Freigabe abgedeckten Pfad bei und folgt sonst der neuesten .log-Datei im gewählten Ordner.
Die Oberfläche ohne Ollama ansehen?
Öffne Einstellungen → Vorschau → Vorschau starten: Zwei Beispiel-Prompts laufen durch die Live-Fortschrittsoberfläche – Cache-Badge, Prefill, Live-Generierung und Abschluss.

Pulsa Conceder acceso… y selecciona la carpeta de registros de Ollama (~/.ollama/logs). El panel muestra carpetas ocultas; pulsa ⌘⇧G y escribe la ruta si hace falta. El permiso se recuerda entre arranques.
«Ollama no detectado»: ¿por qué?
Ollama no está instalado o no se está ejecutando. Instálalo desde ollama.com y ejecuta cualquier prompt: LlamaBar lo detecta automáticamente.
Mi archivo de registro tiene otro nombre (llama.cpp / MLX)
Abre Ajustes → Archivo de registro → Elegir… y concede acceso a la carpeta que contiene tu registro. LlamaBar conserva una ruta cubierta por tu permiso y, si no, sigue el archivo .log más reciente de la carpeta elegida.
¿Quieres ver la interfaz sin Ollama?
Abre Ajustes → Vista previa → Iniciar vista previa: dos prompts de ejemplo recorren la interfaz de progreso en vivo — indicador de caché, prefill, generación en vivo y finalización.
